What to expect As Operations Manager will lead day-to-day operations and long-term planning of a Value Stream at the Commscope Catawba plant. Daily you will plan, advise and supervise production supervisors covering a 7x24 schedule, lead process engineers, and materials planners. with the objective of improving the use of organizational resources to meet established targets for Simply CommScope (LEAN), Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Lead Time, OEE, Employee Engagement and Talent Development. You will define goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems. Regularly you will develop operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Daily you will demonstrate and proactively drive all people management responsibilities including hiring, mentoring, performance management and employee relations for direct and matrixed reports. Proactively address potentially difficult or sophisticated employee relations issues while pulling in the vital decision makers. You will make an impact by Effectively translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in efficient processing and profitable manufacturing of high quality cable. You'll drive the creation and deployment of Continuous Improvement initiatives which enable functional areas' site to meet its operating plan. You'll take proactive steps to ensure standard methodologies are shared. Driving standard work for safety, quality, inventory, scrap rate/yield, TPM, and 5S. Requirements for consideration Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Manufacturing / Supply Chain /Business or a similar field 8
years demonstrated ability working with a manufacturing organization in high tech//telecom/mechanical industry 8
years validated experience in handling manufacturing operations, running large teams including shift supervisors and manufacturing personnel working in a 24/7 environment. Experience leading planning and process engineering helpful. Proven capability to co-ordinate business goals while driving accountability for budgets/cost-savings, thus enhancing the overall effectiveness of extended value streams. Strong ERP experience.
